James is an actor, director and entertainment critic who holds a B.A. degree in theater, acting and journalism from New York University. He has appeared on "Entertainment Tonight" and interviewed more than 2000 celebrities from the film, television, theater and music industry.

They include: Tom Cruise, Heather Locklear, Mel Gibson, Faith Hill, Kurt Russell, Martin Shean, Alan Jackson, Bruce Willis, Vince Gill, Ethan Hawke, Leonardo DiCaprio, Sara Jessica Parker, Dylan McDermott, 98 Degrees, Jonathan Taylor Thomas and many, many more.
 

James has made his acting début at the age of twelve as Frederick von Trapp in "the Sound of Music" and subsequently played the Artful Dodger in "Oliver!" and Baby John in "West Side Story." To date, he has appeared in more than 50 plays. Among his favorite roles are Claude Hooper Burkowski in "Hair," Oscar in "sweet Charity," Nick in "who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?", Cornelius Hackel in "Hello Dolly," and Fekix Unger in "The Odd Couple." From 1979 to 2000, he served as resident entertainment critic for the "Waterbury Republican-American". In September, 1992, he joined the staff at the Amici Friends as the chief entertainment critic. Earlier this year, he was added to the prestigious first and second night critic's review list for Broadway Theater.


James had been the acting class instructor for CT DTA from 1988 through 1992 and he is excited to be back for the 2008 - 2009 season. He has performed in several area productions choreographed by Nefra Sullivan Wihbey, owner and director of CT DTA. Among them: "Sweet Charity", "Bye, Bye Birdie", "The King & I", "Hello Dolly", And "Cinderella".
